THE SONG OF BIRDS, in one way or the other, is a pretty perpetual accompaniment to everyday life if one pauses to have a listen. There are a variety of types of birdsongs and sounds classified in the avian sciences; but broadly speaking these songs and sounds are indicated as either being –
- threat-detection based songs and calls; and
- complex songs and melodies conveying all sorts of avian moods and expressions.
IT IS INTERESTING that each type of bird (whether it be a pigeon, a dove, a starling, etc.) has its own musicality and sonorous vocal quality.
THIS POST IS a quiet reflection on and a tribute to the “unsung” choirs of avian voices that lend their melodies, theme music and original soundtracks to environments of all types, the world over.
